Over the summer months we highly recommend you try the hotel’s ‘Lamb in the Well’ on Sundays. This succulent speciality dish is cooked underground with fragrant herbs and topped with crispy, golden skin. Visitors come from far and wide to taste this traditional slow cooked lamb dish, also known as “Thieves Kebab”. Not only will you have the opportunity to appreciate this mouth-watering delicacy but the history of this authentic Cypriot dish will also be revealed. It is said that thieves, having stolen meat from neighbouring farms would cook the meat underground, so as not have their stolen goods spotted! This really is a distinct and memorable dining experience!

Should you like to do some local sightseeing, then a local bus service runs regularly from the main road, just a few minutes’ walk away. Keep an eye out for St. Fanourios Church overlooking the sea, in the village of Karaoglanoglu. En-route to Kyrenia, take the road towards The Mountain View Hotel. After you’ve passed the football ground the well-preserved church will be right in front of you. Dedicated to St. George, unlike most of the Orthodox churches in North Cyprus, this is an active place of worship and a candle can usually be seen burning on the small alter.

Night time entertainment can be found at the vibrant Lapta Strip which is just a few minutes’ drive away.
