Long Beach Resort is a small complex of semi-detached bungalows and villas, situated right on the famous beach of Salamis Bay, one of Cyprus’ most sensational and peaceful sandy beaches.
Located north of Famagusta on the calm eastern Mediterranean coastline, this complex is a popular beach resort in the purest sense of the term. Many of the properties here sit right on the beachfront and are a few steps from the sea. The sandy beach at Long Beach Resort is generally regarded as one of the best on the island. A long stretch of fine sand with a very gradual incline into the sea ensures that paddling or swimming can be enjoyed by all guests. If lazing by the beach all day is your idea of a perfect holiday, then this is certainly the place for you. Their spacious pool with a convenient swim-up bar only 20 metres from the beach, allows guests the privilege to use both at the same time. Set in their stunning gardens, their range of attractively designed, one and two-bedroom bungalows are comfortably furnished and offer a bright airy, homely atmosphere. Located as it is, at the gateway to the Karpaz Peninsula, Long Beach Resort provides a perfect base for discovering the outstanding natural beauty and unspoiled countryside of this quite remarkable region.
Within a 20-minute drive from the resort is a protected beach area where sea turtles lay their eggs and if you hit the right season, you can watch the mother turtle burying her eggs, or the cute little hatchlings scrabbling down to the sea – an amazing site, which children also enjoy. Please check with your Rep for information on organised turtle-watching sessions. Just down the road, is also the ancient Roman ruins of Salamis, once a mighty Roman port and now ideal for a day out exploring ancient gymnasiums, and temples - another great attraction for children. Further historical and natural delights await you the more you wander. For those seeking more activity, the “bright lights” of Famagusta town are less than 10 miles away and offer a variety of cafes, bistros, bars, and restaurants as well as an opportunity to see Othello’s Tower and Citadel, mentioned in Shakespeare’s play of the same name.
