The Lapida Hotel is unlike anywhere else in North Cyprus. This intimate, year-round retreat sits in the heart of Lapta village, where the pace of life slows down and Cypriot tradition takes centre stage.
Step inside and you'll immediately notice what sets this place apart. Fethi, the owner, has spent years curating a fascinating collection of vintage cameras, antique irons and original paintings that bring character and history to every room and corridor. It's a hotel with a story to tell — and you'll enjoy discovering it.
The kitchen is run with real passion. Fresh produce is harvested daily from the hotel's own organic garden, and the family's grandmother is the beating heart of the cooking operation. Her slow-roast lamb, prepared in a traditional clay oven, is not to be missed — many guests say it's the best meal of their entire trip.
A short 10–15 minute walk from the hotel brings you to Driftwood Beach — a peaceful, crowd-free stretch of coastline included in your stay at no additional cost.
Cyprus Premier Experts Recommend
The Lapta coastal promenade is one of the area's great pleasures — a scenic waterfront walk with sweeping views, ending at the charming Sardunya Bay where boat trips and a relaxed beachside restaurant await. Just along the main road, Silver Rocks is a reliable favourite for drinks or a full evening meal with sea views. There's even a pool on site for a spontaneous afternoon dip.
Families will enjoy The Wild Duck, a short two-minute drive from the hotel, with a small animal park that younger guests particularly love. As evening falls, the Lapta Strip comes alive — The Fly Inn and The Lodge are both popular choices, with open-air seating and views across the water. Prefer something more urban? The local dolmuş runs straight into Kyrenia, a 30-minute journey to the town's lively harbour quarter.
For insider knowledge, Fethi is your best resource — he knows this part of North Cyprus better than anyone and loves sharing his recommendations.
Driftwood Beach is a 10–15 minute walk from the hotel and included in your stay at no extra charge. It's a quiet, unhurried stretch of coastline — sunbeds, calm water and a welcoming atmosphere far removed from the crowded resort beaches. The on-site Driftwood Restaurant & Bar holds a 2026 TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice award and is well worth a visit for lunch or a sundowner.
Some holiday moments stay with you for years — and this is one of them. Fethi's mother, a Cypriot lady with a lifetime of baking tradition behind her, takes guests through the process of making authentic Cypriot bread entirely from scratch. You'll knead the dough, shape your own loaf and slide it into the stone oven — then wait for the result. Freshly baked, warm and utterly delicious. This experience is complimentary for all Cyprus Premier guests — simply mention it at reception on arrival and everything will be arranged.
North Cyprus has a winemaking heritage that most visitors never get to discover — because many of its finest bottles are produced in such small quantities they never reach UK shelves. Cyprus Premier guests at the Lapida are invited to sample a hand-picked selection of these local varieties, accompanied by complimentary snacks and seasonal fruit. Enjoy the tasting in the hotel's peaceful garden with its mountain backdrop, or settle into the cosy interior — either way, it's a highlight of any stay. Bottles are available to buy, making for a genuinely unique memento to take home.
Surrounded by lush Mediterranean gardens, the Lapida's freshwater pool is the perfect place to recharge on a warm afternoon. A dedicated children's section, sunbeds, shaded seating areas, a hammock and open lawns give everyone plenty of space to unwind. The pool bar keeps refreshments close at hand, and the mountain scenery provides a backdrop that makes the whole experience feel rather special.
Board basis is bed and breakfast; half board is available for a supplement. The light and spacious restaurant offers breakfast and dinner, served as an open buffet. You'll find a choice of delicious dishes at every meal, often featuring the hotel's speciality Turkish Cypriot cuisine. Personal service is emphasised at this small family-run hotel and waiters remember guest's names and food preferences to enhance every dining experience. The food is prepared by Grandmother and you will not want to miss her melt-in-the-mouth speciality of slow-roasted lamb cooked in the traditional way in the hotel's clay oven.
The Lapida has an atmosphere that takes most guests by surprise — in the best possible way. Every space in the hotel reflects Fethi's lifelong passion for collecting and his deep pride in Cypriot culture. Antique irons, vintage cameras, hand-painted canvases and unique decorative finds are woven throughout the property, giving it a richness and individuality that no standard hotel can replicate. If you're looking for somewhere with real character, you've found it.
